Field Day Tours

Explore one of two iconic farms, Eyre Creek Station or Earnscleugh Station, with guided tours that include formal presentations at each location.

Eyre Creek Station is a 1,600ha sheep, cattle, and deer farm owned by Pāmu (State-Owned Enterprise), with over 1,200 breeding Red hinds. Join us at Eyre Creek to learn about industry advancements in deer genetics in NZ, including the use of CT scanning, and hear about some of the deer behavior research conducted at the station.

Earnscleugh High Country Genetics – Alistair and Duncan Campbell & Family
Spanning 21,000 hectares of grazing country, Earnscleugh Station runs five sheep breeding programs and four cattle studs. Visitors will gain insight into their innovative breeding approaches, including the role of major genes and their progress toward breeding the world’s finest Merino genetics. Fleeces and rams under 12 microns will also be on display.
